Continuous Improvement

Because Improvement NEVER stops

With B and B Maintenance, Inc.’s Evaluation of Continuous Improvement Plan (QA3), there will always be a strong commitment to continuous improvement.  B and B Maintenance, Inc. currently utilizes the Deming Cycle, which is a four step, wheel of continuous improvement.  There are four main steps in the Deming Cycle:
  • Plan
    • Involves analyzing the current situation, gathering data, and developing ways to make improvements.
  • Do
    • Involves testing alternatives experimentally in a laboratory establishing a pilot process, or trying it out with a small number of customers and/or employees.
  • Check
    • Requires determining whether the trial or process is working as intended, whether any revisions are needed, or whether it should be scrapped.
  • Act
    • This focuses on implementing the process within the organization or with its customers and supplies.
Once all the stages are completed to their fullest satisfaction, that specific improvement is then standardized throughout B and B Maintenance, Inc. The standardized work or product is the result of improvement initiative but it is not stopped here.  With the changing circumstances or new techniques, the standardized work, process, product, or service is again subjected to further improvement thus repeating the Deming cycle again.
